Frequently Asked Questions

General Concerns

Will it be awkward?
Not at all. I treat every session with the same level of care and discretion as a massage therapist or a barber. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and leave feeling confident.

How should I prepare for my appointment?
Please shower shortly before your appointment. Avoid applying any heavy oils, thick creams, or colognes.

What about "natural" physical reactions?
Please don't be embarrassed. It is completely normal that the body can have involuntary responses to touch or temperature. It is handled with total professionalism.
Can I bring a friend?
To maintain a sterile and focused environment, I ask that only the client being treated be present for the appointment.

Is there an age limit?
Yes. You must be at least 18 years old to use our services. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present to sign the consent form and remain on-site for the entire duration of the service.

What forms of payment do you accept?
You can pay for your appointment in person with either cash or with credit or debit.

Shaving/Trimming/Waxing
Does it hurt?
-
Trimming/Shaving: Completely painless.
-
Waxing: You’ll feel a quick "sting" that lasts only a few seconds. I use high-quality sugar wax designed for sensitive skin to minimize discomfort. Most clients find that it gets significantly easier with every session.
How long should the hair be before my appointment?
If you are waxing, the hair should be about the length of a grain of rice (approx. half an inch or 1 to 2 cm). Please do not shave the area right before your appointment.
What should I do if I experience a skin reaction or redness after the treatment?
A mild histamine reaction (small red bumps or a burning sensation) is perfectly normal and usually disappears within 24 hours. You can apply a hydrocortisone cream twice a day for a few days after your appointment to soothe any irritation. If you have a history of significant skin reactions, we can perform a patch test on a small area beforehand.

I'm an athlete; when can I resume training?
It's best to wait 24 to 48 hours before intense training. Salt (from sweat) and friction on freshly waxed skin can cause folliculitis (infection of the hair follicles) or painful rashes. Schedule your appointment for a rest day!

Can I shave between waxing sessions?
Avoid doing so! Shaving makes the hair shorter and coarser, which can make your next waxing session more unpleasant. In an emergency, a quick trim with clippers is preferable to shaving.

How often should I come back?
-
For Shaving/Trimming: Every 3-4 weeks.
-
For Waxing: Every 4–6 weeks. Consistency is key; the more you do it, the thinner and lighter the hair grows back.
Massages/Bodyscrubs

Will the body scrub hurt?
Not at all. I use professional-grade exfoliants (like sea salt, sugar, or crushed walnut) mixed with essential oils. I can adjust the pressure of the scrub based on your skin sensitivity—just let me know if you prefer a "deep invigorating" scrub or a "gentle" exfoliation.

What if I have a lot of body hair?
This is a common concern, but as a manscaping specialist, I am very comfortable working with body hair. However, for the best results with a body scrub, many clients choose to have a trimming service a few days prior so the scrub can reach the skin effectively.

Should I shave or wax before a body scrub?
No. Please do not shave for at least 48 hours before a scrub. The exfoliation process can be irritating on skin that has "razor burn" or fresh micro-cuts from a blade or sensitivity from waxing.

How will I feel after the treatment?
Scrub: Your skin will feel incredibly soft and "breathe" better.
Massage: You may feel deeply relaxed or slightly sleepy. It is important to drink plenty of water following a massage to help your body flush out the metabolic waste released during the muscle work.

Are there any reasons I shouldn't get these treatments?
You should avoid scrubs or massage if you have a sunburn, open wounds, contagious skin conditions, or a fever. If you have chronic medical conditions (like high blood pressure or heart issues), please consult your doctor.
